1.1 Background of the Study
Jada Local Government Area (LGA) in Adamawa State, like many rural areas in Nigeria, faces challenges related to energy access, with most of the population relying on traditional energy sources such as firewood, charcoal, and kerosene. The transition to renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind power, offers a promising solution to improve energy access, reduce environmental degradation, and promote sustainable development. Photography, as a visual tool, can effectively raise awareness about the benefits of renewable energy solutions and advocate for their adoption in rural communities. This study explores how photography can be used to promote renewable energy solutions in Jada LGA and increase public awareness about their potential impact.
1.2 Statement of the Problem
Despite the potential benefits of renewable energy, communities in Jada LGA continue to rely on inefficient and polluting traditional energy sources. While there are ongoing efforts to introduce renewable energy solutions, these initiatives face challenges related to awareness, affordability, and accessibility. Photography can be a powerful medium to showcase the impact of renewable energy solutions on rural communities, highlight successful case studies, and advocate for policies that support energy transition. This study seeks to examine how photography can contribute to the promotion of renewable energy in Jada LGA.
1.3 Objectives of the Study
1.4 Research Questions
1.5 Research Hypotheses
1.6 Significance of the Study
This study is significant because it highlights the potential of photography to promote renewable energy solutions and create awareness about sustainable energy practices. The findings could contribute to policy development, community engagement, and the adoption of renewable energy technologies in rural areas of Nigeria. It also demonstrates how visual media can serve as an effective tool for environmental advocacy.
1.7 Scope and Limitations of the Study
The study is focused on Jada LGA in Adamawa State and examines the role of photography in promoting renewable energy solutions. The research does not extend to other types of energy or regions outside Jada LGA.
