Background of the Study
Donor-funded humanitarian programs are often plagued by inefficiencies in fund tracking and accountability. Accounting Information Systems (AIS) can improve the tracking of donor funds, ensuring that financial resources are allocated and spent as intended. This study will explore how AIS can be used as a tool for tracking donor funds in humanitarian programs.
Statement of the Problem
Humanitarian organizations often face challenges in tracking and reporting donor funds, leading to concerns over accountability and transparency. AIS can improve these processes, but its potential has not been fully explored in the context of humanitarian programs.
Aim and Objectives of the Study
Aim: To assess the role of AIS in tracking donor funds in humanitarian programs.
Objectives:
To evaluate the effectiveness of AIS in tracking and reporting donor funds.
To identify the challenges faced by humanitarian organizations in implementing AIS for fund tracking.
To explore the benefits of AIS in improving transparency and accountability in fund management.
Research Questions
How do humanitarian organizations currently track donor funds?
How effective is AIS in tracking donor funds in humanitarian programs?
What challenges do humanitarian organizations face in adopting AIS for fund tracking?
Research Hypothesis
H₀: AIS does not significantly improve the tracking of donor funds in humanitarian programs.
H₀: There are no significant challenges in implementing AIS for donor fund tracking in humanitarian programs.
Significance of the Study
This study will provide insights into how AIS can enhance accountability and transparency in humanitarian programs, ensuring better management and utilization of donor funds.
Scope and Limitation of the Study
The study will focus on humanitarian organizations that receive donor funding. Limitations may include limited access to financial data and AIS usage in humanitarian contexts.
