Background of the Study
Financial literacy is a critical skill for entrepreneurs, enabling them to manage their finances effectively, make informed business decisions, and ensure long-term business sustainability. The integration of Accounting Information Systems (AIS) has the potential to improve financial literacy by providing entrepreneurs with real-time data, financial insights, and reporting tools. This study will explore the impact of AIS on financial literacy among entrepreneurs in Northern Nigeria.
Statement of the Problem
Many entrepreneurs in Northern Nigeria struggle with financial management, leading to business inefficiencies and failure. While AIS can provide tools to improve financial literacy, it is unclear to what extent AIS adoption has improved financial decision-making among entrepreneurs in the region. This study seeks to fill this knowledge gap.
Aim and Objectives of the Study
Aim: To assess the impact of Accounting Information Systems on financial literacy among entrepreneurs in Northern Nigeria.
Objectives:
To evaluate the level of financial literacy among entrepreneurs in Northern Nigeria.
To examine how AIS improves financial literacy and decision-making among entrepreneurs.
To identify barriers to AIS adoption among entrepreneurs in Northern Nigeria.

What is the current level of financial literacy among entrepreneurs in Northern Nigeria?
How does the adoption of AIS affect the financial literacy of entrepreneurs?
What are the challenges faced by entrepreneurs in adopting AIS to improve financial literacy?
Research Hypothesis
H₀: AIS does not significantly improve financial literacy among entrepreneurs in Northern Nigeria.
H₀: The adoption of AIS does not significantly enhance financial decision-making among entrepreneurs in Northern Nigeria.
Significance of the Study
This study will offer valuable insights into the role of AIS in enhancing the financial literacy of entrepreneurs, providing recommendations for promoting AIS adoption as a tool for improving financial decision-making and business success.
Scope and Limitation of the Study
The study will focus on entrepreneurs in Northern Nigeria and their use of AIS for improving financial literacy. Limitations may include the availability of data on AIS adoption and the reluctance of entrepreneurs to disclose their financial management practices.
