Background of the Study
Agricultural subsidy programs are designed to support farmers and boost agricultural productivity. However, ineffective monitoring of these programs can lead to inefficiencies, misallocation of funds, and corruption. Hong Local Government Area has faced challenges in managing and monitoring agricultural subsidies. The use of Accounting Information Systems (AIS) can help track the distribution of subsidies, ensure transparency, and improve the effectiveness of these programs. This study will investigate the role of AIS in monitoring agricultural subsidy programs in Hong LGA.
Statement of the Problem
There are concerns over the mismanagement and inefficient allocation of agricultural subsidies in Hong LGA, largely due to the lack of automated systems for tracking and monitoring these funds. The potential for AIS to improve transparency and accountability in subsidy programs has not been adequately explored.
Aim and Objectives of the Study
Aim: To assess the role and effectiveness of Accounting Information Systems in monitoring agricultural subsidy programs in Hong Local Government Area.
Objectives:
To evaluate the current system for monitoring agricultural subsidy programs in Hong LGA.
To examine how AIS can improve the tracking and distribution of agricultural subsidies.
To identify the challenges and benefits of integrating AIS into agricultural subsidy monitoring in Hong LGA.
Research Questions
How are agricultural subsidies currently monitored in Hong LGA?
What role can AIS play in improving the monitoring of agricultural subsidy programs in Hong LGA?
What are the challenges of implementing AIS in agricultural subsidy programs?
Research Hypothesis
H₀: The use of AIS does not significantly improve the monitoring of agricultural subsidy programs in Hong LGA.
H₀: There is no significant relationship between AIS adoption and improved transparency in agricultural subsidy programs in Hong LGA.
Significance of the Study
This study will highlight the role of AIS in enhancing the monitoring and accountability of agricultural subsidy programs. It will provide insights into how AIS can improve efficiency and ensure that subsidies are allocated fairly and transparently in Hong LGA.
Scope and Limitation of the Study
The study will focus on agricultural subsidy programs in Hong LGA and the impact of AIS on monitoring these programs. Limitations may include access to data and the willingness of relevant authorities to share information regarding subsidy distribution.
Definition of Terms
