Background of the Study
Disaster management involves mitigating the impacts of natural and human-made disasters through preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation strategies. Public relations (PR) plays a pivotal role in disaster management by ensuring effective communication, fostering public awareness, and building trust among stakeholders. In Yobe South Local Government Area (LGA), Yobe State, disasters such as floods, droughts, and insurgency-related crises have necessitated robust disaster management strategies. Research by Ali and Ibrahim (2024) highlights that PR practices, including crisis communication, media engagement, and stakeholder collaboration, are crucial for minimizing disaster impacts and facilitating recovery. This study investigates the role of PR in disaster management in Yobe South LGA, focusing on its strategies, challenges, and outcomes.

1.2 Statement of the Problem
Despite ongoing disaster management efforts in Yobe South LGA, challenges such as misinformation, lack of community engagement, and poor communication often hinder their effectiveness.
