Background of the Study
Media coverage is a powerful tool for raising awareness about the plight of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and advocating for their resettlement. In Biu Local Government Area (LGA), Borno State, where displacement due to conflict and insurgency is prevalent, the media plays a critical role in highlighting the challenges faced by IDPs and mobilizing support for their resettlement. Studies, such as that by Ahmed and Ibrahim (2023), have shown that sustained media attention can influence government policies and attract humanitarian aid. This research examines the impact of media coverage on the resettlement of IDPs in Biu LGA, focusing on its effectiveness, challenges, and implications for policy and advocacy.
