Background of the Study
Campus journalism serves as a foundational platform for nurturing the next generation of journalists by providing students with practical experience, fostering critical thinking, and honing communication skills. In Zuru Local Government Area (LGA), Kebbi State, campus journalism operates as a microcosm of the larger media landscape, offering students opportunities to engage in investigative reporting, editorial writing, and multimedia production. Research by Aliyu and Mohammed (2023) emphasizes the importance of campus journalism in building the confidence and competence of aspiring journalists. Despite its potential, challenges such as limited resources, censorship, and lack of mentorship often hinder its effectiveness.
