Background of the Study
Rural media serve as critical channels for disseminating agricultural information, particularly in regions where farming is the primary livelihood. In Yabo Local Government Area (LGA), Sokoto State, rural media platforms such as community radio, agricultural bulletins, and extension programs play a vital role in educating farmers on modern techniques, weather patterns, and market trends. According to Aliyu and Bello (2023), rural media bridge the gap between agricultural innovations and local farmers, enhancing productivity and sustainability. However, challenges such as limited access to media, low literacy levels, and inadequate funding often hinder the effectiveness of rural media in Yabo LGA. This study investigates the influence of rural media on agricultural productivity in the area, examining their reach, content, and impact.

1.2 Statement of the Problem
Despite the availability of rural media, agricultural productivity in Yabo LGA remains suboptimal, with many farmers relying on traditional practices. Research by Musa and Abdullahi (2024) suggests that while rural media have the potential to transform agriculture, their impact is often limited by barriers such as poor infrastructure and lack of farmer engagement. In Yabo LGA, where agriculture is the backbone of the economy, understanding the influence of rural media on productivity is essential for addressing these challenges. This study explores the role of rural media in enhancing agricultural productivity, identifying gaps and recommending strategies for improvement.
