Statement of the Problem

  2. To investigate the impact of excise taxes on consumer purchasing behavior in Karu LGA.

  3. To explore the perception of local businesses regarding excise taxes on imported goods in Karu LGA.

Research Questions

  1. How does the public perceive the excise tax on imported goods in Karu LGA?

  2. What impact does the excise tax on imported goods have on consumer purchasing behavior in Karu LGA?

  3. How do local businesses in Karu LGA perceive excise taxes on imported goods?

Research Hypothesis

  1. H₀: There is no significant public perception of excise taxes on imported goods in Karu LGA.

  2. H₀: Excise taxes on imported goods do not significantly affect consumer purchasing behavior in Karu LGA.

  3. H₀: Local businesses in Karu LGA do not significantly perceive excise taxes as a burden on their operations.

Significance of the Study

This study will provide valuable insights into how excise taxes on imported goods are perceived by the public and local businesses in Karu LGA, highlighting the potential economic and social implications. The findings can help inform tax policy decisions and improve public understanding of tax systems.

Scope and Limitation of the Study
