Chapter One: Introduction

1.1 Background of the Study
The integration of technology in event planning has revolutionized the industry, making processes more efficient, engaging, and cost-effective. From virtual event platforms to AI-driven attendee management systems, technological innovations have transformed how events are conceptualized, executed, and evaluated. In Jalingo Local Government Area, the adoption of these technologies has gained traction, driven by the need to enhance attendee experience and optimize resource allocation. Despite the benefits, challenges such as limited access to advanced tools, lack of technical expertise, and high implementation costs pose significant barriers. This study explores the contribution of technology-driven innovations to event planning in Jalingo, highlighting their impact on event success and identifying areas for improvement.

1.2 Statement of the Problem
While technology has significantly enhanced event planning globally, its adoption in Jalingo LGA faces several challenges. Many event planners struggle with limited access to advanced tools and lack the technical skills required for effective implementation. Additionally, the high costs associated with adopting these technologies often deter smaller event organizers. Consequently, the potential of technology to improve efficiency, attendee engagement, and overall event success remains underutilized. This study aims to address these gaps by evaluating the role of technology-driven innovations in event planning in Jalingo LGA.

  2. To evaluate the impact of these innovations on event success and attendee satisfaction.
  3. To explore the challenges faced by event planners in adopting technological tools.

1.4 Research Questions

  1. What types of technology-driven innovations are used in event planning in Jalingo LGA?
  2. How do these innovations impact event success and attendee satisfaction?
  3. What challenges hinder the adoption of technological tools in event planning?

1.5 Research Hypotheses

  1. Technology-driven innovations are underutilized in event planning in Jalingo LGA.
  2. The use of technological tools significantly enhances event success and attendee satisfaction.
  3. High costs and lack of expertise are major barriers to adopting technology in event planning.

1.6 Significance of the Study
This study provides valuable insights into the role of technology in enhancing event planning in Jalingo LGA. It highlights the benefits and challenges associated with adopting technological tools, offering practical recommendations for event organizers and policymakers. The findings contribute to the broader discourse on technology adoption in the event industry, serving as a resource for future research and development.

1.7 Scope and Limitations of the Study
The study focuses on technology-driven innovations in event planning within Jalingo LGA. It does not cover non-technological aspects of event planning or analyze practices outside the specified area.

1.8 Operational Definition of Terms

  1. Technology-Driven Innovations: Tools and systems that leverage technology to enhance event planning processes.
  2. Event Planning: The process of organizing and managing events to achieve specific objectives.
