Chapter One: Introduction

1.1 Background of the Study
Marketplaces are vital economic hubs that bring together diverse groups of people, often resulting in conflicts due to cultural differences, competition, and disputes over resources. In Bauchi North Local Government Area (LGA), Bauchi State, effective conflict mediation strategies are essential for maintaining harmony and ensuring smooth market operations. Public relations (PR) strategies, such as stakeholder engagement, dialogue facilitation, and community outreach, play a significant role in conflict mediation. As noted by Yusuf and Ibrahim (2024), PR-driven conflict resolution fosters mutual understanding and promotes peaceful coexistence in marketplaces.

1.2 Statement of the Problem
