1.1 Background of the Study
Human trafficking remains a pressing global issue, with devastating consequences for individuals and communities. In Nigeria, including Bade Local Government Area (LGA), Yobe State, human trafficking is fueled by poverty, lack of awareness, and limited opportunities. Public relations (PR) strategies have proven effective in combating this menace by raising awareness, promoting advocacy, and fostering collaboration among stakeholders. PR campaigns leverage media, community engagement, and advocacy to educate vulnerable populations about the risks of trafficking and the available support systems. According to Musa and Ibrahim (2023), PR strategies are critical in influencing public perception and mobilizing collective action against human trafficking. This study investigates the role of PR strategies in addressing human trafficking in Bade LGA.
1.2 Statement of the Problem
Despite national and international efforts to combat human trafficking, Bade LGA remains vulnerable due to socio-economic challenges and limited public awareness. While PR campaigns have the potential to address these issues, their implementation and impact in the region have not been adequately explored.
