1.1 Background of the Study
Domestic violence is a pervasive social issue that affects individuals, families, and communities. In Funtua Local Government Area (LGA), Katsina State, domestic violence remains a significant concern due to cultural norms, lack of awareness, and inadequate support systems. Public relations (PR) strategies are vital in addressing this issue by raising awareness, promoting behavioral change, and fostering partnerships with relevant stakeholders. Research by Musa and Abdullahi (2023) emphasizes the importance of PR in advocating for victims' rights and encouraging community action against domestic violence. This study explores PR strategies for curbing domestic violence in Funtua LGA.
1.2 Statement of the Problem
Despite efforts to address domestic violence in Funtua LGA, the issue persists due to factors such as stigma, limited awareness, and weak enforcement of protective measures. PR strategies have the potential to address these challenges, but their application and effectiveness in the area remain underexplored. This study investigates how PR can contribute to curbing domestic violence in Funtua LGA.
