Chapter One: Introduction
1.1 Background of the Study
Social media news platforms have revolutionized information dissemination and community engagement, particularly in rural areas. These platforms serve as critical tools for sharing development-related news, promoting local initiatives, and fostering dialogue on community needs. In Wamba LGA, where access to traditional media may be limited, platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, and Twitter have emerged as vital channels for rural development communication.
