Chapter One: Introduction

1.1 Background of the Study
Health communication plays a vital role in promoting public health by raising awareness, influencing behavior, and facilitating access to healthcare services. In Jalingo LGA, Taraba State, challenges such as low health literacy, misinformation, and cultural barriers often hinder effective health communication. Public Relations (PR) serves as a strategic tool to bridge these gaps, utilizing targeted campaigns, community engagement, and partnerships to improve health outcomes.

PR in health communication involves crafting messages that resonate with specific audiences, leveraging various media platforms to disseminate information, and fostering trust between health institutions and communities.
