Chapter One: Introduction
1.1 Background of the Study
Religious events hold a central place in many societies, serving as platforms for spiritual renewal, social interaction, and cultural reinforcement. Audience participation is a critical factor in the success of these events, influencing their overall impact and sustainability. In Maiduguri Metropolitan Council, Borno State, religious events such as Eid celebrations, Ramadan lectures, and interfaith dialogues are not just religious observances but also avenues for community bonding and conflict resolution.
Audience participation encompasses various forms, including active engagement in rituals, financial contributions, and collaborative decision-making.
