Background of the Study
Healthcare service delivery is a cornerstone of human development, directly influencing the quality of life and economic productivity. In Gwadabawa Local Government Area (LGA) of Sokoto State, ensuring efficient delivery of healthcare services requires strong financial accountability. Financial accountability ensures that funds allocated to healthcare are utilized effectively and transparently to improve access, quality, and sustainability. However, healthcare service delivery in Gwadabawa LGA often suffers from inefficiencies due to resource mismanagement, corruption, and lack of transparency. This study examines the impact of financial accountability on healthcare service delivery in the region.
Statement of the Problem
Despite significant investments in the healthcare sector, many residents of Gwadabawa LGA face challenges such as inadequate medical facilities, poor service quality, and insufficient access to healthcare. Weak financial accountability mechanisms contribute to these challenges, leading to inefficiencies in fund utilization and project implementation. This study investigates the relationship between financial accountability and healthcare service delivery in Gwadabawa LGA.
