Background of the Study

Infrastructure development is crucial for economic growth and the overall well-being of communities. In Mangu Local Government Area (LGA), Plateau State, budgetary practices significantly influence the planning, implementation, and maintenance of infrastructure projects. Efficient budgetary practices ensure that funds are allocated appropriately and utilized effectively to achieve desired outcomes. However, challenges such as inadequate funding, delays in disbursement, and poor financial management often hinder infrastructure development in Mangu LGA. This study explores the role of budgetary practices in infrastructure development, identifying key areas for improvement.

Statement of the Problem

Infrastructure projects in Mangu LGA frequently face delays, cost overruns, and substandard quality due to ineffective budgetary practices. Poor allocation of resources and lack of accountability exacerbate these issues.
