Background of the Study
Public infrastructure, such as roads, schools, and healthcare facilities, is critical to the socio-economic development of Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area (LGA) in Kogi State. Budgetary practices significantly influence the financing, execution, and sustainability of public infrastructure projects. Efficient budgetary practices ensure proper allocation of resources, while poor practices often lead to project delays and abandonment. This study examines the impact of budgetary practices on public infrastructure financing in Kabba-Bunu LGA.
Statement of the Problem
Despite substantial budget allocations for infrastructure projects, Kabba-Bunu LGA faces challenges such as delayed project execution, cost overruns, and abandoned projects. These issues are often linked to poor budgetary practices, including inadequate planning, lack of transparency, and corruption. This study investigates the role of budgetary practices in addressing these challenges and improving public infrastructure financing.
