Background of the Study
Effective cash management practices are crucial for ensuring the proper allocation and utilization of financial resources in government ministries. In Katsina LGA, cash management plays a vital role in maintaining financial stability and ensuring the efficient execution of government programs and projects. However, improper cash management has led to cash flow problems, inefficient resource allocation, and a lack of financial transparency in many ministries. This study aims to assess the cash management practices within government ministries in Katsina LGA and examine their effectiveness in ensuring the optimal use of public funds.

Statement of the Problem
Despite the importance of cash management in public sector financial operations, government ministries in Katsina LGA face challenges in effective cash management, including insufficient monitoring of cash flows, lack of proper planning, and delays in disbursement processes. This study seeks to identify the weaknesses in cash management practices and propose solutions to improve financial control within the ministries.

Aim and Objectives of the Study
The aim of this study is to assess the cash management practices in government ministries in Katsina LGA. The specific objectives are:

Significance of the Study

The study is limited to government ministries in Katsina LGA. Challenges may include obtaining accurate financial data and potential reluctance from officials to share information on cash management practices.
