Background of the Study
The mining sector plays a significant role in generating revenue for local governments, particularly in resource-rich areas such as Gusau Local Government Area (LGA), Zamfara State. Effective governmental accounting is essential for managing mining revenues, ensuring transparency, accountability, and equitable resource allocation. However, in Gusau LGA, challenges such as mismanagement of revenues, lack of financial oversight, and corruption have hindered the efficient utilization of mining revenues for developmental purposes.
