Background of the Study
Internal auditing plays a critical role in ensuring that small and medium enterprises (SMEs) operate efficiently, comply with regulations, and manage risks effectively. In Potiskum Local Government Area, SMEs are vital contributors to the local economy, but they often face challenges in implementing proper internal auditing practices. This study examines the difficulties faced by SMEs in Potiskum in establishing effective internal auditing systems.
