Abstract: This study explores the impact of adult education on global competitiveness, examining how adult learning initiatives contribute to enhancing the skills and capabilities required to compete in the global economy. The objectives were to assess the role of adult education in improving global competitiveness, to identify key competencies developed through adult education, and to evaluate the challenges faced by learners in achieving global standards. A survey research design was employed to gather data from participants in adult education programs, enabling a comprehensive analysis of their experiences and outcomes. A sample size of 350 adult learners was selected for this study. The purposive sampling technique was used to target individuals involved in globally focused education programs. The case study was conducted in Enugu, Nigeria, where various adult education programs aim to enhance global competencies. Findings indicated that adult education significantly improved global competitiveness, with participants acquiring critical skills such as digital literacy, language proficiency, and cross-cultural communication. However, challenges such as limited access to advanced training and financial constraints were noted. The study recommended increasing funding for globally oriented adult education programs and enhancing access to advanced training resources.
