Abstract: This study explores the impact of adult education on emotional intelligence, emphasizing its role in improving interpersonal skills and emotional well-being. The objectives were to assess how adult education influences emotional intelligence, to evaluate the most effective educational approaches in enhancing emotional intelligence, and to identify the challenges faced by learners in developing these skills. A survey research design was chosen to gather data from participants in emotional intelligence-focused education programs, providing detailed insights into the impact of these programs. A sample size of 280 adult learners was selected for the study. The purposive sampling technique was used to target individuals engaged in emotional intelligence training. The case study was conducted in Enugu, Nigeria, where emotional intelligence programs are increasingly popular. Findings revealed that adult education significantly improved emotional intelligence, with learners demonstrating better emotional regulation and interpersonal skills. However, challenges such as cultural stigmas and limited program availability were noted. The study recommended incorporating emotional intelligence training into more adult education programs and addressing cultural barriers to emotional learning.
