Abstract: This research explores the impact of adult education on reducing crime rates. Adult education programs play a vital role in reducing crime by providing individuals with skills and knowledge that promote lawful behavior. The objectives were to assess the effectiveness of adult education in reducing crime, to evaluate the specific aspects of education that contribute to this reduction, and to identify the challenges in implementing crime reduction programs. A survey research design was utilized to collect data from participants in adult education programs focused on crime prevention, offering insights into the relationship between education and crime rates. A sample size of 300 participants was selected to provide a robust analysis. The purposive sampling technique was used to target individuals with prior criminal records or those at risk of criminal behavior. The case study was conducted in Rivers, Nigeria, where crime reduction initiatives are linked to adult education programs. Findings indicated that adult education significantly reduced crime rates, with participants reporting improved employment opportunities and reduced engagement in criminal activities. The study recommended expanding crime prevention education programs and providing continuous support to at-risk individuals.
