Abstract: The topic of this research is the impact of adult education on local economic growth. The study aimed to explore how adult education initiatives influence economic development at the local level. The objectives were to assess the contribution of adult education to local economic development, to evaluate its effects on employment and income generation, and to identify the types of adult education programs that most effectively stimulate economic growth. A survey research design was utilized to collect data from local businesses and adult learners engaged in economic development programs, providing a broad view of the economic impacts. A sample size of 270 participants, including local business owners and adult learners, was selected to ensure diverse perspectives. The purposive sampling technique was used to target individuals and businesses involved in local economic growth initiatives. The case study was conducted in Ogun, Nigeria, where adult education programs have been linked to economic development efforts. Findings revealed that adult education played a significant role in stimulating local economic growth by enhancing skills relevant to local industries and improving employment opportunities. The study recommended strengthening partnerships between educational institutions and local businesses to further boost economic growth.
