Abstract: This research explores the impact of adult education on migration patterns. The study aimed to investigate how adult education programs influence individuals' decisions to migrate or remain in their current locations. The objectives were to assess the role of adult education in affecting migration motivations, to evaluate the impact on the socioeconomic status of individuals considering migration, and to identify the potential of adult education in stabilizing local populations. A survey research design was chosen to collect data from adult learners and communities affected by migration, as it allows for a broad and detailed understanding of migration patterns influenced by educational factors. A sample size of 250 participants, including recent migrants and long-term residents, was selected to provide a comprehensive view. The purposive sampling technique was used to target individuals who have participated in adult education programs and experienced migration. The case study was conducted in Benue, Nigeria, a region with notable migration trends. Findings indicated that adult education positively impacted migration patterns by improving local economic opportunities and reducing the push factors for migration. Recommendations included expanding adult education programs to enhance local economic development and mitigate migration pressures.
