Abstract: The research investigates the impact of peer learning on adult education. This study aimed to explore how peer learning approaches influence the outcomes of adult education programs. The objectives were to assess the effectiveness of peer learning in enhancing knowledge acquisition, to evaluate its impact on learner engagement and collaboration, and to identify any challenges or barriers to successful peer learning implementation. A survey research design was utilized to gather data from adult education programs that incorporate peer learning strategies, as this design allows for extensive and comparative analysis of the impact across different contexts. A sample size of 300 adult learners and educators was selected to provide a broad perspective on peer learning outcomes. The purposive sampling technique was used to focus on participants involved in peer learning environments. The case study focused on peer learning initiatives in Lagos, Nigeria. Findings revealed that peer learning significantly improved knowledge retention, fostered a collaborative learning environment, and enhanced learner engagement. However, challenges such as uneven participation and conflict resolution issues were noted. The study recommended promoting structured peer learning frameworks and providing training for facilitators to address the challenges and optimize the benefits of peer learning.
