Abstract: This research investigates the impact of social media on adult education engagement. The study aimed to explore how social media platforms influence the participation and interaction of adults in educational programs. The objectives were to assess the extent to which social media enhances adult learners' engagement, to evaluate the effectiveness of social media as a tool for educational content delivery, and to identify the challenges associated with using social media in adult education. A survey research design was chosen as it enables the collection of data from a wide range of adult learners who use social media for educational purposes. A sample size of 300 adult learners was selected to ensure a diverse representation of social media usage. The purposive sampling technique was used to identify participants who actively engage with social media for educational activities. The case study was conducted in Lagos, Nigeria, where social media usage is notably high. Findings revealed that social media significantly increased engagement and interaction among adult learners, although it also posed challenges such as information overload and distraction. The study recommended leveraging social media tools for interactive learning while addressing the challenges to maximize their educational benefits.
