Abstract: The research topic is the impact of cultural factors on adult learning participation. This study aimed to examine how cultural factors influence the participation rates of adults in learning programs. The objectives of this research were to identify cultural barriers to adult learning, to assess the impact of cultural values on learning preferences, and to explore strategies for overcoming cultural obstacles to enhance participation. A survey research design was utilized, which is appropriate for capturing the varied cultural influences on a wide range of participants. A sample size of 250 adults from various cultural backgrounds was selected to provide a comprehensive understanding. The purposive sampling technique was applied to ensure the inclusion of individuals with significant cultural influences on their learning behaviors. The case study focused on the cultural context in Enugu, Nigeria. Findings indicated that cultural beliefs and traditions often served as barriers to adult learning, influencing participation negatively. The study recommended culturally sensitive adult education programs and targeted outreach initiatives to address and overcome these barriers.
