Abstract: The impact of gender inequality on access to adult education is a critical issue in ensuring equitable educational opportunities. This study focused on (1) examining the disparities in access to adult education based on gender, (2) identifying the socio-cultural and economic factors contributing to these disparities, and (3) evaluating the effectiveness of policies aimed at reducing gender inequality in education. A survey research design was employed, with a sample size of 140 adult learners. Purposive sampling was used to include participants from various backgrounds, ensuring a diverse representation. The case study was conducted in Delta State. The findings revealed significant gender disparities in access to adult education, with women facing more barriers due to socio-cultural norms and economic constraints. The research recommended the implementation of targeted policies and programs to address these barriers, including community awareness campaigns and financial support for female learners.
