ABSTRACT
THE INFLUENCE OF INVESTMENT EDUCATION ON FINANCIAL LITERACY
This research explores the influence of investment education on financial literacy, focusing on: (1) the impact of investment education on investment outcomes; (2) the strategies for effective investment education; (3) the challenges in delivering investment education. A survey design is used to gather quantitative data. Taro Yamane's formula is applied to derive a sample size of 300 respondents from Lagos, representing a mix of retail and institutional investors. A financial literacy program is chosen as the case study due to its focus on educating investors. The reliability coefficient score for the survey instrument is 0.87. Findings indicate that investment education significantly enhances financial literacy and improves investment decisions. Techniques such as workshops, online courses, and one-on-one coaching are highlighted. It is recommended that investors seek continuous investment education, utilize various educational resources, and engage with financial advisors to improve their financial literacy and investment outcomes.
