THE ROLE OF LEADERSHIP IN DRIVING DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION

The objectives of this research are to: (1) explore the influence of leadership styles on digital transformation initiatives, (2) identify the critical leadership competencies necessary for successful digital transformation, and (3) evaluate the impact of leadership on employee readiness for digital change. Utilizing a survey design allowed for the collection of diverse perspectives from leaders and employees within organizations. The sample size, calculated using Taro Yamane's formula, resulted in 398 participants from various industries in Abuja, ensuring a robust analysis. The manufacturing sector was chosen for its complexity and extensive use of technology. The survey instrument achieved a reliability coefficient score of 0.85. Findings indicate that transformational leadership significantly boosts digital transformation success, with leaders playing a crucial role in fostering a culture of innovation and adaptability. It is recommended that organizations invest in leadership development programs that emphasize digital literacy and change management skills.
