THE IMPACT OF INFORMATION SYSTEMS ON ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGE
Abstract: This study aimed to assess the impact of information systems on organizational change within organizations. The objectives were to examine how information systems support change management initiatives, enhance communication channels, and facilitate employee engagement in change processes. A survey research design was employed to collect quantitative data from 280 respondents, selected using the Taro Yamane formula to ensure representation across industries undergoing organizational change. The study focused on a case study of a telecommunications company in Lagos, known for its digital transformation initiatives and change management frameworks supported by information systems. Conducted in Lagos, the reliability coefficient score was calculated at 0.89, indicating strong internal consistency in survey responses. The findings indicated that information systems play a crucial role in facilitating organizational change by providing real-time feedback, fostering collaboration among stakeholders, and supporting transparent communication channels. The study recommends that organizations integrate change management systems with information systems, empower employees through training and development, and cultivate a change-ready culture to effectively navigate organizational transformations, achieve strategic objectives, and sustain competitive advantages in evolving markets.
