THE IMPACT OF INFORMATION SYSTEMS ON DATA-DRIVEN DECISION-MAKING Abstract: This study aimed to assess the impact of information systems on data-driven decision-making within organizations. The objectives were to examine how information systems improve data accessibility, enhance data quality, and facilitate evidence-based decision-making processes. A survey research design was chosen to gather quantitative data from 270 respondents, selected using the Taro Yamane formula to ensure representation across industries emphasizing data analytics and decision support. The study focused on a case study of a financial services company in Enugu, known for its use of business intelligence (BI) systems for risk assessment and investment analysis. Conducted in Enugu, the reliability coefficient score was determined to be 0.88, indicating strong internal consistency in survey responses. The findings indicated that information systems enhance data-driven decision-making by providing timely insights, improving accuracy in forecasting, and supporting strategic planning initiatives. The study recommends that organizations invest in BI and analytics platforms, integrate data governance frameworks, and foster a culture of data literacy to empower decision-makers with actionable insights and drive business performance in competitive markets.
