THE IMPACT OF INFORMATION SYSTEMS ON HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
Abstract: This study aimed to assess the impact of information systems on human resource management (HRM) within organizations. The objectives were to examine how information systems optimize HR processes, improve workforce planning, and enhance employee engagement and retention strategies. A survey research design was chosen to gather quantitative data from 280 respondents, selected using the Taro Yamane formula to ensure representation across industries with diverse HRM practices. The study focused on a case study of a multinational corporation in Kaduna, known for its comprehensive HRIS (Human Resource Information System) integration and global workforce management. Conducted in Kaduna, the reliability coefficient score was determined to be 0.89, indicating strong internal consistency in survey responses. The findings indicated that HRIS enhances HRM effectiveness by automating routine tasks, facilitating talent acquisition, and enabling data-driven decision-making. The study recommends that organizations invest in integrated HRIS solutions, implement analytics tools for workforce insights, and prioritize employee training and development to optimize HRM practices and foster a productive and engaged workforce.
