THE INFLUENCE OF INFORMATION SYSTEMS ON ORGANIZATIONAL LEARNING

Abstract: This study aimed to investigate the influence of information systems on organizational learning within organizations. The objectives were to analyze how information systems support knowledge sharing, improve learning processes, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. A survey research design was employed to collect quantitative data from 250 respondents, selected using the Taro Yamane formula to ensure representation across industries emphasizing knowledge management and organizational learning. The study focused on a case study of an educational institution in Sokoto, known for its use of learning management systems (LMS) and digital libraries for academic research and curriculum development. Conducted in Sokoto, the reliability coefficient score was calculated at 0.88, indicating strong internal consistency in survey responses. The findings highlighted that information systems enhance organizational learning by facilitating access to learning resources, promoting collaboration among learners, and supporting feedback mechanisms. The study recommends that organizations integrate robust LMS platforms, implement knowledge sharing initiatives, and foster a culture of continuous learning to enhance employee skills, innovation capabilities, and organizational adaptability in dynamic environments.
