THE ROLE OF PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS IN ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS
Abstract: The objective of this research is to examine the role of problem-solving skills in performing administrative tasks effectively. A survey design was selected for its ability to gather comprehensive data from a large sample of respondents, providing valuable insights into the impact of problem-solving abilities. Using Taro Yamane’s formula, a sample size of 360 administrative employees from a telecommunications firm in Port Harcourt was determined. The survey instrument’s reliability coefficient score was 0.89, indicating high reliability. Findings reveal that strong problem-solving skills are essential for administrative success, enabling employees to address challenges swiftly and efficiently. Recommendations include incorporating problem-solving training into regular administrative skill development programs to enhance overall task performance.
