Abstract:
The objectives of this research are to (1) explore the impact of strategic human resource management (SHRM) on organizational performance, (2) identify the key SHRM practices that drive performance, and (3) assess the relationship between SHRM and employee engagement. A survey research design was chosen to collect comprehensive data from a broad respondent base. Using Taro Yamane's formula, a sample size of 370 respondents was selected to ensure representativeness. The study was conducted among service industry firms in Abuja, Nigeria, known for their focus on human resource strategies. The reliability coefficient score of the survey was 0.91. The findings indicate that SHRM significantly enhances organizational performance by improving employee engagement, aligning human resource practices with business goals, and fostering a positive work environment. Recommendations include investing in SHRM practices, regularly reviewing HR strategies, and promoting continuous learning and development for employees.
