Abstract: This research examines the influence of project planning on project outcomes, with objectives to: 1) assess the effectiveness of different planning techniques, 2) determine the impact of comprehensive planning on project success, and 3) recommend strategies for improving project planning processes. A survey design was chosen to collect extensive data from project managers and planners. Using Taro Yamane's formula, a sample size of 375 respondents was determined, ensuring a 95% confidence level and a 5% margin of error. The study was conducted in the construction industry in Ogun, where detailed planning is vital for successful project execution. The reliability coefficient score of the survey instrument was 0.87, indicating high reliability. Findings indicated that thorough project planning, including detailed timelines, resource allocation, and risk assessment, leads to significantly better project outcomes. Recommendations include adopting standardized planning frameworks and continuously improving planning processes through feedback and lessons learned.
