THE ROLE OF LEADERSHIP STYLES IN CONFLICT RESOLUTION
This study explores the role of leadership styles in conflict resolution. Objectives include: (1) evaluating the effectiveness of various leadership styles in resolving conflicts, (2) analyzing the impact of leadership on team dynamics during conflict, and (3) identifying best practices for conflict resolution. A survey design is employed to gather data from a broad population. Using Taro Yamane's formula, a sample size of 320 is derived, ensuring comprehensive coverage. The case study focuses on the healthcare sector in Lagos, Nigeria, where conflict resolution is critical. The reliability coefficient score is 0.85, indicating high reliability. Findings show that participative and transformational leadership styles are particularly effective in resolving conflicts, fostering team cohesion and positive dynamics. Recommendations include training leaders in conflict resolution techniques and promoting a culture of open communication and collaboration to manage conflicts effectively.
