Abstract: THE IMPACT OF DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION ON EMPLOYEE MOTIVATION
Objective: This study aims to (1) explore the relationship between diversity and inclusion (D&I) initiatives and employee motivation, (2) identify key elements of effective D&I programs that enhance motivation, and (3) assess the long-term benefits of D&I on organizational culture and performance.
Research Design: A survey design was selected to gather detailed feedback from employees regarding their experiences with diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Sample Size: Using Taro Yamane's formula, a sample size of 360 employees was determined, ensuring a 95% confidence level with a 5% margin of error.
Case Study: The research focused on the technology sector, where diversity and inclusion are critical for innovation and organizational success.
Location: Abuja, a growing tech hub with a diverse workforce.
Reliability Coefficient Score: The survey instrument had a Cronbach's alpha score of 0.88, indicating high reliability.
Findings: Effective diversity and inclusion initiatives significantly enhance employee motivation by promoting a sense of belonging, respect, and equal opportunities. Diverse teams were found to be more innovative and productive.
Recommendation: Technology companies should implement robust diversity and inclusion programs that foster a culture of respect, equality, and opportunity to enhance employee motivation, creativity, and organizational performance.
