Abstract: THE INFLUENCE OF JOB SATISFACTION ON EMPLOYEE MOTIVATION
Objective: This study aims to (1) explore the relationship between job satisfaction and employee motivation, (2) identify factors contributing to job satisfaction, and (3) assess the long-term impact of job satisfaction on employee retention and performance.
Research Design: A survey design was selected to collect detailed feedback from employees regarding their job satisfaction and its effects on motivation.
Sample Size: Utilizing Taro Yamane's formula, a sample size of 370 employees was determined, ensuring a 95% confidence level with a 5% margin of error.
Case Study: The research focused on the financial services sector, where job satisfaction is critical for employee motivation and customer service.
Location: Abuja, a key city with a significant presence of financial institutions.
Reliability Coefficient Score: The survey instrument had a Cronbach's alpha score of 0.87, indicating high reliability.
Findings: The study revealed that job satisfaction, influenced by factors such as work environment, compensation, and career growth opportunities, significantly enhances employee motivation. Satisfied employees were more motivated and committed to their organizations.
Recommendation: Financial services organizations should focus on improving job satisfaction through competitive compensation, career development opportunities, and a positive work environment to boost motivation and retention.
