Abstract: THE ROLE OF TAX ADVISORS IN TAX COMPLIANCE AND PLANNING
This research explores the role of tax advisors in tax compliance and planning in Kaduna. The objectives are to understand the importance of tax advisors in ensuring compliance, assess the challenges they face, and evaluate their impact on effective tax planning. Using a survey design, data was collected from 180 tax advisors, calculated using Taro Yamane's formula. A case study of a leading tax advisory firm in Kaduna was conducted for detailed analysis. The reliability coefficient score was 0.87. Findings indicate that tax advisors play a crucial role in ensuring compliance and effective tax planning, but face challenges such as complex tax laws and inadequate support. Recommendations include enhancing the training and support for tax advisors and simplifying tax regulations to facilitate their work.
