ABSTRACT

This study was carried out on the perception study on the influence of A.I in the academic performance of students in Nasawara State University. Specifically, the study aimed to examine the perception of students on the benefit of A.I in their academic activities, examine the perception of students on the impact of A.I on their academic performance, and examine the factors that hinder students successful use of A.I in their academic activities. The study employed the survey descriptive research design. Questionnaire was used for data collection which was raised against a five Likert scale of Strongly Agree(SA), Agree(A), Undecided(U), Disagree(D), and Strongly Disagree(SD), and was analysed using the frequency counts, percentages, mean and standard deviation. A total of 100 respondents were conveniently selected as sample size comprising of students in Nasawara State University. From the responses obtained and analysed, the findings revealed that there is a positive significant relationship between integration of A.I in students academic activities and their academic performance. On the basis of these findings, it was recommended that government and school authorities should invest in improving infrastructure and internet connectivity in regions with poor access to technology. This could involve government initiatives to expand broadband access, subsidize internet costs for low-income households, and provide support for schools and communities to upgrade their technological infrastructure. By addressing these infrastructure challenges, students will be better able to access and utilize AI-powered educational resources effectively.
