ABSTRACT

This study was carried out to inclusive education and the effect on  teaching of biology in senior secondary school North LGA Abia State.  Specifically, the study aims to find out the level of acceptance of inclusive education  in  senior secondary school Aba North LGA Abia State, assess  the benefit of inclusive education in  senior secondary school Aba North LGA Abia State, determine the challenges of inclusive education in  senior secondary school Aba North LGA Abia State and examine the effect of inclusive education  on  teaching of biology in senior secondary school Aba North LGA Abia State. The study employed the survey descriptive research design. A total of 141 responses were validated from the survey. From the responses obtained and analyzed, the findings revealed that  inclusive education have an effect on  teaching of biology in senior secondary school Aba North LGA Abia State. The study thereby recommend that the government should increase funds to special needs education to necessitate purchase of learning resources, development of infrastructure, train and recruit adequate teachers.  Also, there is need for explicit policy on the concept of inclusive education. As it is per now, the policy only talks about integration, which is different from inclusion. Furthermore, there is need for collaboration and partnership between different departments and stakeholders in order to ensure the smooth learning of inclusive education.
