A total of 100 respondents were conveniently selected as sample size comprising of nurses in specialist hospital Yola. From the responses obtained and analysed, the findings revealed that nurses in specialist hospital Yola are not knowledgeable about the use of Glasgow coma scale for neurological assessment of patients. On the basis of these findings, it was recommended that despite the reported knowledge about the GCS, it's crucial to continuously evaluate and improve nursing practices related to neurological assessment. Establishing feedback mechanisms, such as regular audits or surveys, can help identify areas for improvement and address any gaps in knowledge or practice. Additionally, integrating quality improvement initiatives focused on enhancing GCS proficiency can lead to better patient outcomes and overall quality of care. Encouraging open communication channels where nurses can provide feedback and suggestions for improvement will contribute to a culture of continuous learning and excellence in patient care.
